COVID19

COVID19 has burst on the scene
The only show playing on the television screen
She’s mean and she’s bad
Like a young girl searching for her dad
She is upset and she is mad

She’s traveling up and down the coast
Uncovered no winter coat, hurting those we love the most
Causing symptoms, fever, cough, and sore throat
She’s wreaking havoc on our hope
Stay at home order ain’t no joke
Got Weed, Oops I don’t smoke

Knocking our vision out of scope
Loosening the knots in our rope
She has no respect of persons, damn! she so assertive
The longer she travels the symptoms seem to worsen
Even got so call Christians cursing

She seems to think like a boss, killing at any cost
Our elderly lives are being loss
Tossed away, we are bowing our heads to pray
Dismayed don’t know what to say
Loss for words every day, can’t coin the right verbs to say
Upserbed, reverbed, need to be heard

Life has become a chore
The little things in life we value more
Simple things we’ve come to adore even more
Appreciating life like never before
Like taking trips to the grocery store

Shopping at the local mall, or on the court shooting basketballs
Gratitude says it all!
Lounging around the house has become our vacations
Waiting, hands on our hips trying to exercise patients

Devastation lurks around every corner
Our friends and family have become professional mourners
Too many calls to the Coroner please help bury this Corona Virus
Singing the words of Miley Cyrus
Wrecking ball, hurry before it mashes us all

Too many dead, shaking our heads
Dread fills our soul; tears constantly roll
The death toll continues to grow

Hope stalled, like a long distant call
We’ve been placed on hold
Normality has become the ultimate goal
The end nobody really knows
We all trust what we’ve been told
Story lines seem to implode
Explode, never been down this Old Town Road

Gotta stroll, not run, can’t kill this thing
Not even with a gun
Walking, that’s the best we can do
Flip flops can’t wear tennis shoes
Being smart gotta bust a move
Like Stella got get our groove back,
Like aliens, we must attack

Have to take it slow this ain’t no amazing race you know
Fo Sho, Huff puff better blow the man down
Boots and feet pressed to the ground
This girl, she sure gets around, somebody said, “She’s new to this town”, but
The cure will soon be found, so dust your shoulders get off the ground

COVID19, YOUR ASS BOUT TO GO DOWN!
