What is Sin cont’d

Let us continue our conversation about sin. I feel that this is a very important topic
because of the weight, it carries in the world, but particularity in religious beliefs.
Sin, is believed to be so powerful that it (supposedly) can separate us from God.
Yes, I am aware of what is being taught about sin and its consequences for hundreds, probably thousands of years. I plead with you to ask yourself and your inner consciousness can anything separate you from God.
If God, source, your inner being is inside of you, then tell me how you could be separate from that source, how can you be separate from that which is you?  Maybe you pinch yourself off from your awareness of its power, or its presences at times, however, you are never separate from it.
There will be those of you, who will fight for the right to be separate because of your teachings around this subject, but I ask you to search your soul, that part of you that knows the truth and you will know that you and God are inseparable.
Sin simply put means missing the mark, it does not mean you are damn; you are going to a burning hell!
I know that neither you nor I want to miss the mark, but this is what the continued journey is all about. Life is about living and striving to hit the mark. There will be many marks in your life, and yes, I have read the scripture just as you have that said, “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ”
This in my mind is not an either/ or, this is saying the result of you missing your mark ( meaning your dreams, desires, wishes, wants, goals, aspirations) is the death of them, but because life is an eternal gift from God/universe/source, you will have more opportunities to hit the bulls eye, hit the mark!
I am not trying to get you not to believe in Sin if that is what you want to do, I am just trying to help you realize that sin is not what you may have thought it to be.
Do we miss the mark sometimes; the answer is yes. Is the mark still there for me to try again, I believe that would be a yes also. So stop tripping and beating up on yourself and others for missing the bullseye sometimes.
Read the Bible for enjoyment, but depend on your direct connection to God to lead you and guide you.
You your inner GPS (God Pointing System) God, your inner being will direct you.

Poetry corner 2

Why do we worry, get in a hurry
Scurry around like we are lost
Truth is we are the boss of our journey
Learning to love our-self
Changing the hand, we’ve been dealt
We can lay the cards on the table
Disable the negative thoughts
Unlearn the fears we’ve been taught
Dress rehearsal baby, you got the part
You had it from the very start
Now create your character
Life is your story to be told
Write the script as you go, while you stroll
Ease on down, ease on down the road
You are the star it’s your role
Happiness should always be the goal
They say laughter is medicine for the soul, let joy explode
In your face, walk at your own pace, every road isn't straight
Taste the peace, swallow, life is a feast
You are alive not yet deceased
New heights you can reach
Walks on the beach, foot prints in the sand
Lovers walking hand in hand
Breathe and live life with zest my dear
Like a spear aimed straight for your heart
Bulls’ eye hit by the dart; spark the fire that’s within
New beginnings never ever have to end
Only practice the things you want to win
Start over again and again
Life is eternal, so let the church say Amen!

What is Sin

What is Sin?
Sin is a three-letter word that seems to carry a lot of weight, especially in the religious world.
I can remember the first time I heard this word. I believe I was about 10 years old and a sister from the church that my aunt attended was out doing a little missionary work. My mother had just married my stepfather and they had gotten (SAVED).

They asked the church Sista if she could stop by our house because no sinners were allowed to live in their house anymore.  She came by for the purpose of witnessing to my cousin and me about Jesus Christ and accepting Him as our savior.  This is what they call leading you to Christ.
I remembered hearing a little about God, but up until that time it was only in the sense that God assisted, God created the world, and God controlled the weather.

I recall seeing a huge beautiful book on my Grandmother’s coffee table with the HOLY BIBLE written on it and it had a colorful hologram picture of a group of white men with long beards and long hair sitting around a huge table. I never knew who these men were and I never thought to ask.
I only opened that book to look at the beautiful and colorful pictures that had a gloss to them. I found out later in life that these men were Jesus and his disciples at the Last Supper.
I remember thinking of God as someone or something that was good; that was until the church Sista told us about God’s other side.

That day I discovered that the other side of God was capable of hate, because God hated Sin, and we were all born as sinners and remained sinners until we accepted his son (only begotten son) as our savior.

God also was Jealous, and would send us (unrepentant sinners) to a burning hell if we did not repent of our sins and we needed to make a choice to choose God right now and repent just incased we died that night, we could wake up in Heaven.
Up until that day, I just thought of myself as a little black girl, I had no ideal I was a sinner as well, and what was a sinner anyway, and how did I become a sinner. What did I do to become a sinner? Was I just born that way? What was I doing that was so bad that it would make a loving God hate me, after all, I was just 10 years old, how many sins could have committed by that age? To be cont’d
